“Anwar Ibrahim to sue for compensation of RM100,000 million gazillion over remark at international press conference”
(TP) Kuala Lumpur: Opposition leader and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) supremo Anwar Ibrahim today filed a libel suit with the High Court for RM100,000 million gazillion against main defendant Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman.
Anwar claimed that Anifah’s remarks indicting that the latter was offered lots and lots of money to join PKR were scandalous and childish. Anifah’s remarks were reportedly made at a press conference with US State Secretary Hillary Clinton on May 16, where he had said among other things, that Anwar had sought to buy over the Foreign Minister.
The suit was filed last morning in the High Court, naming Anifah Aman, the government of Malaysia and the rest of the world as defendants.
The statement of claim included that:
- It instigated Anwar was on top of things when he was in fact, just in the doggie position (underdog position to be exact)
- It created a true portrait of him as someone who was scandalous and childish
- It had spread the name of Anwar throughout the rest of the world watching the press conference without his permission, thus giving him undue publicity which he already had plenty of.
Anwar will be seeking compensatory damages of RM100,000 million gazillion, aggravated and exemplary damages and other costs and reliefs deemed fit by the court. It was also understood that Anwar had suffered immeasurable pain throughout this ordeal.
“It’s not that much, I’m seeking. If you only just multiply it by the number of eyeballs, it’s more than the amount I’m asking for. And that Aman guy can go bankrupt for all I care”, said Anwar.
“If anyone is not happy, they can come to my condo”, he ends off, standing outside the High Court.
